Paws for Purple Hearts

Paws for Purple Hearts builds on the time-honored tradition of soldiers assisting other soldiers. It helps heal returning combat veterans by teaching those with psychological scars, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), to train service dogs for their comrades with physical disabilities.

Click on the short video below to better understand how these special service dogs help wounded warriors.

  1. it requires 18 to 24 months and over $15,000 to fully train one of our special puppies as a service dog for a wounded warrior.

(added factor, to essentially guarantee what i'm pretty sure he'd already donate-do: the golden retrievers involved... he and nance had a golden long ago.... and their daughter courtney and her family now have a golden, kava, who bob n' nance big-time love)....

  4. oh, another thought, re the 'healing powers' of woofers... for ptsd and depression.... marko used to take uma (a big big big great dane) to old folks homes.... cheers up people who are feeling lonely to get licked and paw-bumped.... and, your post here just gave me an idea to check around this county and see what programs (psych hospitals, old folks home, etc) might want a friendly tail-wagger name of keerah to come by for an hour once or twice a week.... she'd love that... so i'll look into it... (so a double thanks for your post)..

My Aunty worked for many years in an old folks home and once a week she would take "Emma" her Newfoundland to work with her for a morning.. the residence loved Emma's visits.
