  4. G'day Shiela.. or is it Madam Yoga?? lol

  5. Hi Dave.

Photography is a very expensive hobby thats for sure.

So, tell me.. have you used the camera and the lens very often? Or are they like most cameras and gadgets, in a wardrobe somewhere. Since I have a camera on my mobile phone, I never ever thing to take my camera anywhere.. not that I have ever been a very good photographer.

  6. I have used it but I bought another Sigma 300mm macro that can zoom in/out from a great distance to a small object. I tend to use that more as you don't need to change lenses as often.

I use the camera on my mobile a lot! (mainly upskirts) haha j/k

  10. I'm feeling frustrated lolol. Claude isn't back from checking on the boat yet and I've done everything I can do, renovation wise, on my own... feels like I'm waisting time!!!! His cell is closed (probably needing a charge) so I can't make other plans in case he comes back. In 3 mins it ill be 11.. and if he's not back I'm taking off with my camera with no lens lmao!

  11. I hear you... If you go he will have just missed you by five minutes.. if you stay, he could arrive home hours from now...

Why dont you leave him a note telling him to ring you when he gets home.. that way you can get out for a little while and snap some pics??? Could be good theropy.

I was looking at some bathroom renovations earlier.. I have some really gorgeous, but very different pics to show you.

  14. OMG.. your kidding.

I always get electric shocks of the rubber sides.. hate em.

  15. Yep... I'm off! Wont go too far... just in case...

Escalators still scare the living shit outta me!

  17. there are some ncredible lenses these days...wow...jewel encrusted brooches!!

  18. The irony is, I prefer my 300mm (macro) lens which isn't really a true macro. My true macro is far smaller and you are limited to very small work. Still it does come in handy for studio work.

  21. Hello there and thanks for leaving a comment, I went to your page to say Hi but as you have no guest book I will leave it here. Feel welcome to come back any time in the future.

  22. The only people who cry photoshop (which is one word btw) are the ones who use photoshop.
I don't even have photoshop installed or own a copy of any version of photoshop, what you see is what you get.

  23. I have not got photoshop either.. and I have never used the program but I have seen some demonstration vids on You Tube.. what an amazing program.

I recall a pic you did with your daughter sitting in a flower Lyn, which I loved. From what I can gather its a pretty extensive program.

My friends eldest son works in a Photography shop in town and he uses Photoshop for a whole range of things that customers bring into the store. Adding People to photographs, restoring old and damaged photographs.. he really enjoys it and am told that he is very good at what he does.

One of the tasks he had to do, which quite upset him, was remove a person from a family photograph. Aparently there had been a falling out .. bad blood. what ever .. and he had to change the photograph to make it as though that person had never been there.. Sad that people go to that extent.

  24. I could do all that if I wanted not with photoshop, hate that program! I use (if needed) pixelmator (it's for the mac) It's more or less just like Paint Shop Pro which I'm more accustomed to.
I've put a friends wife in front of a marathon before, put him with this huge cartoon desperate dan pie in front of him and so on.... it's pretty easy to do when you know how.

However, on my photography, the only thing (sometimes) I may change is the colours. nothing more.
I'm in a group in flickr called No Photoshop.

It's sad that people always think EVERY photo is photoshoped though, imagine if everyone thought like them? It'd be a very one sided world.

    ReplyDelete
  25. It would be a pretty sad, one sided world if folks couldn't even suggest a theory....

    Just saying

  26. They should try taking macro photographs before being to judgmental.

    just saying.

  27. The author of these delightful pictures we are discussing....

  28. I've never had the opportunity to take photo's of dragonflies. Not yet at least.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm what one might call.... a dragonfly enthusiast... *proudly displays her dragonfly tattoo* .... I've taken thousands shots of them... never in my wildest dreams have I taken THAT kind of quality shot. Environmentally controlled photography for sure. I use macro to its fullest, and even then, I'll never end up with such precision and splendor. Modifying a picture, with any kind of program, is an art on its own... its not a crime.

I was asking if you were Martin because.. you seemed to take Aussiechic's comment personally.

  30. I have a passion for macro photo's that's all.

    ReplyDelete
  31. What size if lens are you using?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Pentax 100mm F2.8... but the one that gives me best result is the integrated macro function on my Canon S3 1S

    ReplyDelete
  33. Have you tried a i.e. Sigma 400mm macro lens? that way you can be a good distance away and still make it look like you took the photo very close up. Your not disturbing anything either which is a huge advantage.

    ReplyDelete
  34. A flame thrower!!!! lol nah... my equipment is modest. Wish I had the $$ to follow my passions.

    ReplyDelete
  35. i agree.. someone is really touchy lol

    ReplyDelete
  36. Well now Dang it you guys..

I was reading in one of the photographers commnets about which Lenses and Cameras he uses.. (by the way at the time of posting these pictures to his site, Martin stated that he is not a professional photographer.) but because it means absolutely nothing to a photographic illiterate person I didnt pay any attention. You guys who love to click away, probably would have found that tidd bit rather informative.

  37. i already use Sigma lenses on my DSLR's Angie, and you've seen my macro photos (snail comes to mind) but i prefer the compact dlsrs now, as with the weather, its too hard to change lenses in 10 secs flat

  38. Wow those are incredible shots. I wish I could be that good at photography and I wish I had a camera to do it with.
