I didn't watch TV tonight.... will you be getting one? I can't see a use for it in our family at the moment.
When you going into the bush then, Angie?
seems like a useful little product. I have long thought there needs to be something simple that can be used for personal protection. Good post. :)
I could put one around my neck... so my family can trace me if I loose myself going to to OC lol
Did they mention prices?
kinda scary unless you are Marco polo
Have in the USA for about ten years... also, a unit which can be placed in a car... it monitors where the car goes and how fast. The data is down loadable to your PC. Great for monitoring teenagers and wandering spouses [grins]
Hello there Jan!!No I will not be getting one of these and to tell you the truth when the presenter first started talking about it I thought .. ohhh here we go again.. another gadget where some parents will think it can be used as a babysitter.. ( as many have done with mobile phones)... but the more information was discussed the more I thought .. hmm.. this is a handy gadget. One of the features, the one that appealed to me, was the device can be preset to send an SMS to a designated mobile phone number if it starts movinig in excess of a pre-programed, designated speed. I have a 17 year old son, who is driving ..If the device moves in excess of the maximum speed allowed it will alert you via SMS. Not only does it alert you but you can view, via you phone its location and speed.
Yes indeedy.. good for personal protection but I would hate to see it misused as in the form of a Child Minder/ Babysitter scenario. Most of the footage on the television was centered around a 5 year old child using this device.
Too many snakes in the bush.. and not enough 5 star Motels.. think I'll give the bush a miss Paul
Gday Mimi.. from memory ( that's really not much to go on these days lol) it was under $200.00 ASD
Wow.. ten years?? ... Sad that people need devices to check on their spouses.
Says a lot about USA morals, heh?
Might be useful for wandering boyfriends/husbands too...just don't let them know you snuck it in their pocket..lol....nevermind ...I see kasteel got to this before me....lol
The model I saw is about 4" by 4" by 2" thickness with a flat high gauss magnet. It can placed in a wheel well or in the engine compartment. It worked well even with auto metal between the unit and the GPS satellites.
