Ok.. I seriously find this offensive & Obscene

A Scottish brewery has generated a storm of controversy by releasing the world's strongest and most expensive beer in bottles made from dead animals.

Called 'The End of History', the beer sells at $855 a bottle and is 55 percent alcohol, UK newspaper the Telegraph reported.

Scottish beer makers BrewDog made 12 bottles of the ale using the stuffed remains of seven stoats, four squirrels and one hare.

Brewery co-founder James Watt described the ale as "the beer to end all beers".

  1. Well not only the price would put me off, but I know I couldn't drink anything that poured out of a bottle like that. What a sick sick thing to do. Kill an animal to make a bottle holder? Puleeeze. That is offensive to me too. I hope people have more sensitivity than to buy their beer.

  2. Shiela, yes, wrong on SO many levels. Its perverse.

It actually says in the article that the Brewery claims that no animals were killed for this. That the carcasses were of already dead animals.. either way.. I say GROSS.

  3. I myself find this disgusting also, Angie. However, if this brewery wants to give their product some legitimization, they need only hire an art critic to declare it a cutting-edge statement of modern art, and anyone who dared be opposed to its conception will be pariah-tized as some sort of backward Neanderthal.

  4. Yes this is rather weird and perverse. Who would buy it and why? Ya gotta wonder sometimes huh? So many cruel and uncaring people in the world...it makes me sad....sigh....

  5. That's disgusting!!!

Well, at that price they had to figure they wouldn't sell that many and so wouldn't need to use so many animals. I suspect even they know how distasteful (no pun intended) something like that would be to all but the very affluent or very weird!

I could barely bring myself to look at the pictures .. with the necks of the bottles protruding from the poor little creature's mouths.. its just grotesque.

  9. Gotta wonder about folks that think up this shit. Like seriously. Who could find this appealing?

55 percent alcohol? Now that part I'm curious about lol... maybe in another container... beer could finally be tasteful lol

  11. hey there anige, and as a preface, you know i'm an animal-lover... (got three dogs n' two cats hanging out in the room as i type)... yes, i find it strange and perverse, perhaps somewhat obscene..

that said, i also see it as a marketing gimmick and for folks who happen to be hunters and such, that they might buy some of it based on the 'packaging'... and like you said in comment section, the critters were already dead, so no animals were harmed as a result...

that said, even if i had a boatload of cash, no, i wouldn't buy it....

hey, once in college i was eating a container of dannon cherry yogurt and got a pit... (i wrote to 'em about it and turns out there was a 'beware of pits' note on the side of the container but i'd never seen it, and i'd had plenty of cherry yo by then... they apologized and sent a buncha coupons for future yo-consuming)...

so here's what i think would be 'justice served'.. if someone's having a beer outta a squirrel or hare bottle, maybe one of the animal's 'last acts' would be at the bottom of the bottle... last gulp of the beer, and down the throat goes a tiny critter turd..

  12. I totally agree with you! How offensive is it anyway and how ridiculous to even begin with? I mean, like, do people really drink it.
