Ohhhh Palease!!

glace_luxury_ice.jpg

I had no idea there was a market for luxury ice and Im still hoping there inst but California -based Glace Luxury Ice Company is hoping differently.  The company is selling 2.5 inch "luxury" ice spheres for $8.00 a ball!!

The Glices are supposedly hand-carved in Canada and delivered in "elegant packaging" complete with dry ice, and are designed to compliment even the most expensive of drinks. And besides their  claims that a sphere is "among the most eficient ways to cool your drink" the company does use purified water to ensure there are no contaminates in the ice spheres to alter the taste of premium drinks or liquors.

  1. Hahahahahahahaha! This gives me hope! Next time it snows here in the mountains I think I'll go out and "hand compress" a bunch of tiny snowballs and package them up for the college crowd here for their dorm parties. They can fill up their bathtubs with their drink of choice and throw in the snowballs. Maybe even throw a few at each other as the party moves to a higher level of maddness.

  4. Well yeah that goes without saying, eight bucks for a snowball is a bit snooty.

  5. Angie, since I keep very little food in my freezer, I could make ice cubes in different shapes and sizes. They would make for a great conversation piece whenever company stops by to visit. Oh, btw, I saw a segment on the news about bottled water and how most of it comes out of the faucet. I don't purchase it so that's good news for me.

Hope you are having a good Sunday over and under. Hugs...

  6. We don't carve ice here in Canada ... we carve wood and make the cutest little statues to sell to American tourists ... but ice? I don't think so. These little "spheres" are probably alien, extraterrestrial ...

  7. Sigh....well, take this from a native Caifornian, most of this crap comes from LA, and most of this state is agricultural, NOT big city! People only get their ideas from the cities like San Francisco and LA, but we are much more than those stupid cities! I think it is obnoxious that folks in those cities (mostly LA) have nothing better to do, and I for one wouldn't buy anything that came from there, lol. I actually call LA The Land of the Vampires, because it is all shallow people who want to suck the life out of you! LOL! (and yes, I am jealous that I didn't come up with a way to make $8 a pop for ice cubes, lol. Missed my calling on that Pet Rock thing too!)

  9. $8.00 for ice? What will they think of next! But yanno... I laughed the first time I heard of bottled water... NEVER thought it would catch on *shakes head*. Fools and their money are soon parted!
